FFL2 returns and a Trailer
It's finally time to quell all you excited folks out there, as a trailer for Shiner's Gradius Galaxies: The Movie has finally arrived! The trailer basically exhibits one great moment from each of the game's eight stages. In the actual, finished product, Shiner will no-death the game, as well as acheieve a sickeningly high score without too much milking of bosses involved, too. And on a very unimportant side note, we have one more Final Fantasy Legend 2 video that stars PLASMO. Wow.
Tetris, Ikaruga Glitch?, FFL2 . . .
We just added three new videos. Though the Tetris and Ikaruga glitch have been up for a while, this update to the front page coincides with the addition of our latest odd little video: a video of Shiner defeating a boss from Final Fantasy Legend 2. And for those of you who are wondering if the Ikaruga Chapter 1 boss glitch is actually a glitch, it is. If you move the ship to the top left corner, the sword's fire doesn't spin like that. Shiner says he will be back with one more FFL2 video (complete with a sweet background drawn himself on his Super Game Boy) and a trailer for his upcoming Gradius Galaxies no-death run. Both videos are promised to be out before September 14th, which is when Gradius V arrives in North America. (Shiner might be getting ahead of himself because he has to return to school at the end of August. haha)
Cleaning
So I was looking for a blank floppy today. I was sticking old floppies in to see what is on them. To my surprise I found a whole bunch of jetpack levels. In case you've never heard of Jetpack it was a great dos game. Talk to Shiner sometime, he's an expert at the game. So anyway I present to you a whole bunch Shiner made Jetpack levels. Or you could download the zip file that includes all of them. You'll need the full version of jetpack to be able to use all the levels. I'm pretty sure that the developers have made Jetpack freeware so download it IMMEDIATELY!! Sure hope it works in windows xp.
Shiner + Combustia
Shiner and Combustia decided to get together and make a few videos. They combined they're talent and graced us with a Star Wars : Clone Wars video. During this video they get up to wave #29. After this they also recorded a short 2P Chapter 1 video. I believe this was recorded during one of the first times that Combustia has ever played Ikaruga. Notice the 100 percent destruction rate, a la Radiant Silvergun.
Next up . .
Well it appears as though the next video in the collection will be an Ultima Exodus video. The game was for originally for the NES. Shiner, most likely, will be doing some audio commentary. I decided that I should make a preview of the video. One thing I should mention is that the video is in double speed because the video would have been VERY long, almost 30 minutes, and it feels even longer. There isn't really a point to the video other than Shiner showing off a NES game that should have been forgotten. Shiner has finished off the video with some commentary. There is also a remixed song (Ultimaking ExoDust) thrown in there from PalletteSwap.com
Shiner and Jugem Tape
I started to capture the Shiner and Jugem tape, I got done the first video . . a full 2p run through Ikaruga. I thought ahead and created two versions. A low quality version and a high quality version. So download the version you prefer. The high quality is actually really high quality and low quality is "watchable". Stay Tuned for the capturing of the rest of the tape. Shiner said, " This run features a perfect 4-1 from us, as well as some interesting methods for other things. The Ikaruga and Ginkei try to dance at the end but it just looks like they're trying to rape each other. Don't worry Tyebo, you'll see in this tape that I didn't reveal any Chapter 5 secrets."
Next up in the Shiner and Jugem Tape is another full run. In Shiner's words, "Sure we beat VTF-INO at some things, but that's because we die ten times total in one level. Also, in this run, the dancing becomes a massive orgy with volcanic orgasms, including a wonderful "climax" in 5-3 WHICH TYEBO AND I MUST LEARN NOW. " Again I made a low quality and a high quality video, enjoy.
Next up in the video comes some practice sessions. First we get the Chapter 4-3 practice. Shiner says, " We had some good ideas going here for how to do the eyeball turrets in two-player, and then have both of us ready with full energy so we could get 30. Our consistency was quite terrible instead." After this we move on and we get some of their chapter 3 practice. Shiner's comments were, " We also come upon a weird glitch in this part. Jugem dies and has to hit Continue, but before he can I restart. His side of the screen flashes "PLEASE WAIT" the whole time. XD. Also, when I'm doing this alone, I get 2,026,620 in 76c in 3-1. I always wanted to show off my bullet eating skills, but it's not worth it in the face of JasonS's 3-1 78c. At 54:21 I also do the famous "WIZ Trick" on the zigzag of dart ships. I also show off my weird "Modest Shigi" style where I kind of sort of just do Dot Eater on him. " After these two player practice sessions we get to see Shiner try to show off to Jugem. Shiner said, " I restart Chapter 2 about 16 times in an effort to show Jugem how I get 44 chains in 2-1. Several deaths and chain breaks involved. You KNOW you want to see this, so you can see just how inconsistent I am and how far ahead you really are. Or maybe you just want to see how Ikaruga is really played. Finally, I get it right, and I get 1,005,500 points. Also starring: Changing polarity on all the bonus rings without dying! The rest of Chapter 2 is dismal however, featuing an amazing 3 bonus rows, and a 79 on the boss because I died. There is another dismal Ch2 run right after this one, but I wouldn't dare show it (haha i added it anyway)." I also added on some more footage onto the end of this video since it was fitting. Shiner says, " Remember my stupid idea for Chapter 2's boss? If you go behind him, you'll be stuck there with his flurry shooters trying to kill you? I demonstrate how to do it with only two deaths from you and your partner. Good for a laugh, especially when we die from giant arms landing on top of us." I also got a screen capture of Jugem's total play time.
